Footprints of an Angel

" Highly Recommended.
This book deserves a longer comment because it is such a gem. It would be great for book-club discussions or as a holiday gift. In “Footprints of an Angel” Finser uses the concept of an Angel as that especially wise extension of ourselves that can be nurtured or neglected in our everyday interactions. It high-lights moments of day-to-day "synchronicity" that could have been missed. In this way, it is a guide to self-development/personal transformation as well as understanding biography. Did walking up a particular street help the author land in a study group that lead to the meeting of his life-long partner and love? Is it possible to intentionally cultivate an awareness of ordinary moments that lead to extra-ordinary events? In this book, each chapter of auto-biographical episodes is augmented with a chapter of insightful commentary that becomes an “how-to” for the reader on fostering healing and growth and building self-esteem. This is a unique book that changes your perspective on life!
Siegfried Finser has had an exceptional life. His light-hearted writing style makes his colorful adventures fun to read. The author lived in a time when jumping trains, selling bibles door-to-door, teaching children, and having a savvy business sense were the perfect preparation for a multi-national corporation and finance career. You can imagine a twinkle in his eye. He even co-founded a socially conscientious lending institution well before its time. Finser’s personal and vocational lives are a study on the power of ingenuity, love, creativity and smarts. He challenges us to be more open to the psychological and spiritual inspiration that is available to us each day in seemingly unrelated events. The ability to look back at our lives in this way would enable us to live more fully ourselves. This book certainly, left me with the challenge, "Do I see my life as a linear series of events or can I also find those “Footprints of an Angel?”
